Recognizing that our world is increasingly broken and battered by natural disasters and recognizing the sting of hopelessness and despair, RESTORE US strives to offer help, empathy and financial assistance to individuals in the midst of chaos.

Amanda’s Hope - sprinter van spring 2021

Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels is a nonprofit, support and educational organization designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, tax-exempt organization, founded in 2012 in celebration of Amanda Hope’s life.

During her three-year fight with leukemia and nine-month battle with a brain tumor, Amanda Hope dreamed that one day she would design a fun clothing line for kids just like her that would provide comfort and dignity during chemo treatments. Amanda's life ended all too soon but her dream lives on through our Comfycozy's for Chemo apparel and her legacy continues with our expansion of programs and services.

Brent and Christina met with Lorraine Tallman in 2020 and once they heard the story of Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels they knew they wanted to support the work of this outstanding organization. Watch below to see what Brent and Christina delivered on behalf of the Restore Us Foundation.

Covid-19 Pandemic
Rwanda, africa - spring 2020

IMG_5512.JPG

Covid-19 has impacted every corner of Gods earth. While the US navigates unprecedented restrictions, developing countries are navigating their own cultural changes that are impacting their ability to maintain and gather food. Limited stored food has quickly been depleted. Restore Us was contacted by an organization working in Rwanda. They expressed the dire situation of hundreds of families that were sheltering in place as mandated by the local government. Once harvested and stored food ran out, people began to emerge from their huts in search of remaining crops. When the authorities questioned their movement, one simply replied, “dying from covid can’t be more painful than starving to death.” Restore Us urgently responded and provided funds directly to local Government community leaders. This quick, radical gift allowed for immediate action in Africa. Rice, beans, flour and soap were purchased and organized so that safe distribution could take place as soon as possible. It is estimated that roughly 400 people were provided with food.

WINTER 2019

RestoreUS is assisting a non-profit organization in Mansfield called Reaching Out. Reaching Out helps the area homeless and the economically disadvantaged. Don, one of the loyal volunteers, has been provided with a RestoreUS vehicle to help drive the clients.

The Kindness Initiative

Winter 2019

RestoreUS launched The Kindness Initiative at the beginning of December, 2019. The goal of the initiative was to deliver random acts of kindness in the most unexpected places to the most deserving people. Over the month of December, the RestoreUS Foundation gifted $10,000 in the form of $100 and $50 gift cards. Unsuspecting recipients where found at the bus stop, leaving a homeless camp, waiting in the ER, delivering pizzas, picking up trash, recovering at the hospital, renovating a house and strolling down the street, just to name a few.

Homeless Packs

November, 2019

RestoreUS made 35 care packages for homeless or shelter dwelling individuals through out the Columbus, Ohio area. Care packages were well received and seen on the backs of many new RestoreUS friends through out the city. Each care package included a blanket, water, hygiene items, a notebook, pen and snack. One recipient who was in a wheelchair, on a sidewalk downtown said: “Man, this is awesome! All of this is for me? And I even have a bag to carry it all! Bless you, I needed this today.”

NEW BEGINNINGS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PAVILION
DELAWARE, OH - SPRING 2018

In February 2018, I was driving by a property on 36 near Delaware. There was a sign on the road that said First Methodist Church. It was 7:00 am and no cars were in the gravel drive, so I pulled into just relax and pray before the meeting I was heading to in downtown Delaware. On the property there was a maintenance building and an open-air pavilion

As I prayed, I heard a car pull up. When I finished there was a younger man who turned out to be the youth minister of the church. I got out of my car and asked him what was the future for the property? He said one day, a new church home but for the foreseeable future just to hold worship when the weather permitted at pavilion. We stood in pavilion and I said "...what if RestoreUS helped you enclose the space and add heaters." With that statement I got a puzzling look. Over a two month period, RestoreUS, along with the efforts of Jim Strieb, came up with a plan for the church that would allow for multi-season access. The pictures of the space tell the rest of the story. God’s timing in our lives continue to amaze me and I am continually strengthened by His grace!

HURRICANE RELIEF
NAPLES, FL - summer 2017

We met a 92 year old man named Walter in Naples who had his trailer roof damaged beyond repair in Irma. He has lived in this home for 45 years with everything he had gathered along the way. The first time we met him, he was gracious and completely aware of his situation, yet very calm. We left him money, but knew we needed to do more. The next day, we took our crew back to help organize and remove the moldy items he had gathered throughout his life. The pictures tell the rest of the story!

God gives these people a special spirit of survival. We don’t all have the same struggles but everyone has their cross. Without valleys of darkness people can’t grow. We learn to suffer well. We can either suffer in a ditch or stand up and suffer.

HURRICANE RELIEF
IMMAKALEE, FLORIDA - summer 2017

Our team from Fusion Church out of Lexington, OH were sent to serve one of the hardest hits areas in SW Florida. When we arrived, we met with Destiny church in Naples to see who had the biggest needs. They led us to a community full of love, but full of poverty. Five guys, two trailers filled with supplies headed 57 miles out of Naples to help the people of Immakalee. Our guys were amazed that people all said they were okay but knew a friend, a neighbor or a family member that needed more than they needed. The people we helped only took what they needed and nothing more. We were able to help families, individuals, and a local school. While working with one particular family, our guys hearts broke to see the devastation. They had to pull our every item this family owned and put it on the street. This family of eight felt our love and commitment to serve them.

It is a blessing to be able to give and see people happy. There is no better feeling in the world. I’m thanking God and blessed to be here serving.
